Life with 5 dogs and a horse

    9-Feb-2008

If you like things neat and always perfect here is a suggestion. Don't have kids, don't have a dog, don't take risks.
The down side of dog ownership. They will break your heart, they will have 'accidents' and they will occasionally chew a shoe.

There is also an up side! They don't ask to borrow the car keys, they don't have to go to college, and if the have offspring, you can sell the puppies!

My greatest aspiration is to be half the person my dog thinks I am.

My husband likes to tell this story of how his German Shepherd Dog saved his hide one day. He worked in Down Town Los Angeles California, and on this one day he took his dog with him in to the 'office.' For him the office was his car. He would drive into LA and park deep in underground parking garages to work in the high rise buildings in down town. This one Saturday he parked down the block and walked to the buzzer on the front of a building to ask to be let in. In the 5 minutes he was gone as he turned back he saw what looked like a 'street-gang' of kids walking strait toward his truck. They got about 10 or 15 feet away and saw those big German Shepherd ears perk up as my husband whistled. The gang just turned and walked away. While his dog Roscoe was more likely to lick their hands then bite them, the gang didn't want to find out.

Come back for more stories and adventures of the puppy Bubba as he considers a life in the wild world of dog shows.
