Princess Boo Foo-E Dinky Dow aka "Dinky"
I had just lost my precious Samba dog and was lost. I always wanted a small dog to keep with me as I constant companion.
My husband got me this adorable Pom and we named her, "Princess Boo Foo-E Dinky Dow" or just Dinky for short.
As you can see at the bottom she thought she ruled Naughty, and often used him for a bed.
We moved in to our lovely home and one day noticed a very large owl perched on a tree a couple hundred feet away from the house.
That was night fall.
Then as morning dawned he was still there. We went over and got within 10 feet of this magnificent creature.
We also realized this was a baby!
We then realized that there were 3 more babies and the mom & pappa owls perched on the Saguaro next to our house.
As time went on we noticed other birds of prey. Sometimes they were perched on our roof looking down at our 5 pound dog.
Remember some of the rabbits around here weigh 20 pounds, Dinky was little more than a snak waiting to happen.
Then one day I watched a hawk start a diving run on my dog. Voodoo just happend to turn and walk toward Dinky that day.
Voodoo didn't realize that he had just saved her life. It was obvious that the open desert where we live is no place for a 5 pound dog.
So we have given Dinky to my Sister-in-law Carla who lives in Oregon. While still endanger from preditors, they are typically teenage boys.
Not carnivors looking for an easy meal. So we miss her but she is safe and loved and doted upon constantly by Carla.
