A little background about Kathy

Kathy has always had a love of dogs. As a youngster she was the neighborhood dog sitter and self-appointed trainer. Members of her immediate family were allergic to dogs so she adopted all of her extended family’s and friend’s dogs as her own.

When she married in 1971, she asked her new husband for a dog as a wedding gift. He bought a purebred Labrador retriever for her. He actually ordered it through Spiegel catalog!!!!

Eight months later they decided formal obedience was a must for Zeke. She enrolled in a class given by the late William Kohler in Pasadena California. A few weeks later she was offered a chance to apprentice under him - and the rest is history.

Kathy enjoys group training, but her first love has always been the one-on-one experience of private training --- working with one family and their dog to produce a situation where the dog can be an integral part of family life and the family gets the dog they always dreamed of having.

She has pursued this love of training dogs in California, Washington and now in Arizona where she can be found teaching in Cave Creek, Carefree, Scottsdale, Anthem, New River and surrounding areas north of Phoenix.

Kathy and her husband Scott currently enjoy the companionship of wonderful dogs --- Renegade; Voodoo; and Bubba (their standard poodles), Naughty (a 185lb Newfoundland). Kathy’s Leopard Appaloosa, Buckshot has returned from a short stint with the Sherriff's Posse. While The Princess Boofoo E. Dinkydow is in Oregon.
